The facility’s location in the SoMa district of San Francisco, at 963 Harrison St, offers relative accessibility. Parking is available directly on Harrison Street, with non-metered parking options becoming available in the afternoons. Metered parking is in effect during the mornings. This makes attending classes relatively convenient for those driving to the gym.
Woodenman Muay Thai provides a well-equipped environment for its members. The new location on Harrison Street features a large mat area, providing ample space for training and sparring. Several heavy bags are available, allowing students to hone their striking techniques. The gym also includes a shower facility for post-workout convenience. A FloWater station is available to ensure members stay hydrated. Locker rentals are available for $25. In addition, a lost and found is maintained to help members recover any misplaced items.
The gym offers a diverse range of training programs tailored to different skill levels and goals. Introductory classes are designed for beginners, focusing on the fundamentals of Muay Thai, including stance, movement, and basic striking techniques. Other coaches include Neungsiam Samphusri, Matt Baker, Conor Bracken, Sean Climaco, Sam Colonna, Ethan Quiachon, Megan Washam, and Andrew Webb. For introductory classes, beginners are recommended to wear athletic attire. They should also bring hand wraps, gloves (10oz-16oz), and a water bottle. To advance to Level 2 Drilling and Sparring classes, students must pass a test and have 16 oz gloves, shin pads, a mouthguard, and headgear. The gym is open 30 minutes before the first class and 30 minutes after the last class for open gym time.
