A typical training session includes a dynamic warm-up with stretches and jump rope exercises, followed by technical development through shadow boxing and footwork drills. Meet the Trainer
The gym is owned and operated by Anthony Christodoulou, a personal boxing trainer with extensive experience and a distinguished background in the sport. Christodoulou’s boxing journey began at age 12, and he went on to compete in 175 amateur matches, earning a full boxing scholarship to Northern Michigan University under the guidance of Olympic Coach Alfred Mitchell. As a professional boxer from January 1994, he achieved a 5-1 record with 5 KOs. His amateur accomplishments include earning 2 gold and 1 silver medal in NYS Empire State Games, becoming a 5-time NY Golden Gloves Champion, securing 3 bronze medals in USA Amateur Boxing Federation competitions, winning gold in the Eastern Olympic Trials, and earning silver in the Olympic Trials Finals against Oscar De La Hoya.The focus at Upstate Boxing Fitness is on creating a positive and encouraging atmosphere where individuals can challenge themselves and achieve their fitness goals. The training methods are personalized and adapt to each participant's unique skill level and objectives.
